Should I Wear Make-up On My Wedding Day?
Timothy-Wells, 2007-09-30 03:01:24
I'm 27 and I've never worn make-up in public before (too embarrassed). The skin of my face is quite scarred from acne so I'd probably have to wear a very thick foundation and I think it would end up looking silly - besides I don't think I'd look like "me" since nobody has ever seen me with make-up on.But lots of people say I should because I'll regret it if I don't look stunning in my photos. What do you think? I'd like opinions from both men and women.

Acne scars are easily hidden by a light reflective powder and a little touch of mascara would give you a very natural look but enhance your looks and be great for the photos. they will know how to best cover any blemishes or scars.x. I understand you dont usually wear make-up but at the same time i'll bet you dont walk around in a floor length white gown and arent the centre of the attention of all your friends and family at once. have a professional do it. if your comfortable without make up then dont wear any, but if you decide to wear make up, get a professional makeup artist to do it, as they will make it look as natural as possible but still give you a bit of glamour for your special day. The powder would stop any reflection from the flash of your photographer and your photos would look much better. x I would say yes. you want to look your best. You wont regret this. good luck for your wedding. Hope you have a lovely wedding xyou should. Why not hire a professional for the day and during your practice explain that you want very light make-up and a very natural look.

I will wear some makeup for my wedding just because it will be formal. However, I will not wear as much as many other brides because I still want to look like 'me'. I will wear subtle eye makeup: light pinkish gold eyeshadow, brown eyeliner, brown mascara (i'm really fair-skinned), and I will wear rose-colored lipstick. I will probably not wear foundation because I do have good skin...and foundation feels icky to me. (good word, "icky"!)Even if you don't think your skin is the best, it's probably far more noticable to you than to anyone else. Don't wear thick foundation - it will not make your skin look like fresh, smooth skin. It will look like thick, goopy foundation. Your best bet is to go to a nice cosmetic store and get a professional to do your makeup. Tell him or her that you normally do not wear makeup, and you want to look like you on your wedding day. That person will be able to give you a nice, natural look that will dress you up without making you look like someone else.good luck. I know you'll be fabulous!

I would recommend having it done by a professional, if the budget doesn't allow for that, the cosmetic counters at the mall and make-up stores, like Merl Norman, will do it for free. You may actually like the way you look. Make-up does not have to be applied heavily to "hide" your scars. I suggest Bare Minerals foundations, it provides coverage without being caked-on or too heavy.
